Bandleader and saxophonist Kenneth Whalum's has a repertoire most would envy, covering everything from bee-bop to hip-hop and boasting collaborations with musicians such as rap legend Jay Z and keys master Robert Glasper. While this young talent represents a fresh direction for jazz, Kenneth's draws inspiration from both the old and the new, embracing and mixing the diverse musical genres of southern gospel, soul, R&B, jazz, and classical.
