Marc Cary's "The Harlem Sessions"
Marc Cary's weekly event The Harlem Sessions, has rapidly become the uptown hang for a host of great musicians every Thursday night. Due to great demand, The Harlem Sessions on their first birthday expands next door to Ginny's Supper Club to continue the renowned weekly uptown jam session with a difference. ” Cary’s sessions are the hippest hangout since St. Nicholas Pub." raved The Amsterdam News, as the excitement of Cary's curated session took hold in their original home, Gin Fizz. Within their first year, The Harlem Sessions stage has been graced by Vijay Iyer, Ben Williams, Bertha Hope , Kebbie Williams, Braxton Cook, Tom Brown, Terreon Gully, Maya Azucena, Alison Crockett, Jessica Care Moore, The Office's Craig Robinson, Jean Baylor, Sullivan Fortner, Al B Sure, Igmar Thomas, Corey Wallace, members of The United Nations Youth Orchestra and nearly 100 other musicians, poets and dancers, who make up the fabric of our scene.

This is no ordinary jam session. Following a musical menu curated by Marc Cary and posted on their Facebook and website each week, this session pays homage to the late and great black and american composers, with a particular focus on engaging in ensemble arrangements and collaboration within a live performance.
