Born and raised in Waterbury, Connecticut Jonathan Michel is a bassist, composer and arranger of Haitian descent.
Based in New York City, Michel is an eclectic artist known for his work as a producer and arranger, as well as performances at some of the city’s premiere venues.

Venturing out in 2005 Michel immersed himself in the musical community of Philadelphia, performaing regularly on local, national, and international stages with many of the city’s greatest artists. During this stint he was blessed with the life changing adventure of traveling the world serving as bassist and musical director for the great Billy Paul.

‘Black Wonders of the World, A Billy Paul Tribute’ is the 2nd installment of a 3 part series dedicated to spreading the socially conscious music and message of the Grammy Award winning artist, producer, and songwriter Billy Paul.
As an activist and humanitarian Mr. Paul dedicated a large portion of his Catalog to telling stories of the Black experience in America. Join us as we re-tell some of these great stories.
